The Making of a Chanel Inspired Outfit

Is it too much to wear this to a Zoom meeting? Probably. But here's to dressing up on a daily basis in your own sewing creations!

I had a fabulous vision of an OTT pink textured skirt suit, inspired by the iconic boxy Chanel jackets, and set to work. Using my bodice and skirt blocks, I took a bit of a leap of faith with the shaping of the jacket, making sure to create the lining (made from a hand-me-down satin top) first rather than cut into the pink bouclé fabric straightaway. I intended for a ruffled trim, but going by the rate the fabric fell apart in my hands, I decided to stop short of that stage! This left a clean edge, which was in keeping with the rest of the design.

I certainly won't be wearing it whilst eating anything that splashes!
