Re-made & Re-made again

In October 2020, I wrote a blog post titled 'New dress: Old materials', having made the Tilly and the Buttons Megan dress using a skirt I rarely wore for the top half, and curtain lining for the skirt! I certainly enjoyed wearing it as a fairly unusual colour combination and elegant shape, but the skirt was always a little tricky to keep wrinkle-free, given the nature of the fabric. Therefore, after realising I hadn't worn it for a couple of years for that very reason, I unpicked the waist seam, put the purple skirt in my scrap bag (kept for future stuffing etc.), and replaced it with a heavier weight satin fabric that I had picked up a few years ago from the leftovers of an upholstery company. I think perhaps the colouring is now a little more complimentary, and I won't be as concerned with a crumpled skirt after sitting down!
